A quintet led by Craig Tweddell pays homage to the trumpeter who was a key hard bop musician in the 1960s before beginning to explore progressive modal music near the end of his brief life. The group will play a number of originals by this incredibly prolific artist, who played on Coltrane's Blue Train, Blakey's Moanin' and several of Hank Mobley's albums in addition to 25 of his own albums.
