ABOUT ABOUT

We have a special show coming up at the Bard's Town on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.       Dave Klingman, a lyrical master of the clarinet who's been playing jazz here for decades, and Chris Fitzgerald, a fine bass player who teaches jazz at UofL,  are bringing a duet project they've worked on for over a decade and opening it up to two more players and instruments, dramatically expanding the range of voice and idea exchanges possible in a duet context.      Building on their recently released record of their years of duets, Dave and Chris will first play several duets, followed by duet combinations of Dave and guitarist Craig Wagner, Dave and singer Carly Johnson, and then the other three players in duets.     They'll play favorite tunes from the Great American Songbook and jazz standards including

You Don't Know What Love Is
Willow Weep for Me
Alone Together
Round Midnight
I'm So Lonesome I Could Criy
Lush Life

Here's a sample of the lovely music that Chris and Dave make together:

This is a rare opportunity to hear Dave Klingman play these days, accompanied by three of Louisville's best jazz musicians.        Should be a special show and a lot of fun.

Since this is an LJS listening room show, we ask that those who plan to order dinner arrive at least 30 minutes before the 7 p.m. start time, and that folks keep conversations to a minimum during the music.

The Bard's Town is at 1801 Bardstown Road at the corner of Speed Ave.

We look forward to seeing you there on Nov. 26!
